You can receive the following email notifications from Workfront:

Event Notifications

Event notifications are predefined in Workfront and enabled by the system administrator at the system level. They are usually triggered by certain events. You can opt out of receiving event notifications, by modifying your user settings inside your profile.

Automatic Reminder Notifications

As a system administrator, you can set up automatic reminders to trigger notifications when a task or an issue is late or due.

The content of an Automatic Reminder email is predefined in Workfront.

An automatic reminder notification triggers an email message to the users specified in the notification setup when a work item is overdue or is approaching its planned completion date.

For more information about setting up Automatic Reminders, see "Setting up Automatic Reminders."

For more information about receiving Automatic Reminders, see the "Receiving Automatic Reminders" section in "Receiving Email Notifications."

Reminder Notifications

Reminder Notifications allow you to set up notification conditions for a specific object. Unlike Automatic Reminders, you manually associate Reminder Notifications with a work item.

For more information about setting up reminder notifications, see "Setting up Reminder Notifications."

For more information about receiving reminder notification emails, see the "Receiving Reminder Notifications" section in "Receiving Email Notifications."

Subscription Notifications

If you want to follow an item which is not associated with you in any way, you can subscribe to it. Currently, you can subscribe to the following items:

  • Issues
  • Tasks
  • Projects

After you subscribe to an item, you receive a subscription email every time someone comments on the item. For more information about subscribing to items, see "Subscribing to Items."

For more information about receiving subscription emails, see the "Receiving Subscription Emails" section in "Receiving Email Notifications."

Email Invitations

As a system administrator, you can add users to Workfront and notify them that they have been added, by using email invitations. For more information about email invitations, see "Understanding Email Invitations."
