Clear your browser's cache and cookies

About cache and cookies

HTTP cookies
A cookie is a small piece of text information that a web server or application stores in your browser in order to remember your selected settings, configurations on ,visited pages, your searches and your online sessions.

Clearing cookies in your browser may resolve various problems with signing in or with staying logged in and could eliminate problems with permissions (e.g., some settings have been made to your ProofHQ profile and in your browser there is still information about the previous session (from before the changes).

Most browsers automatically remove older or expired cookies, but it's a good practice to remove this data regularly as it can be used to compromise your privacy if someone gains access to your computer.

Cache
Cache is an area where downloaded parts of web pages and applications are stored (e.g., images, scripts, CSS files). The cache helps to speed up your time spent web browsing since pages of data do not need to be retrieved every time you visit a particular site - it simply loads from your computer.

This is a great solution for improving performance; however you may not always have the most recent version of a web page loaded, since the old data is loaded instead of updating the content. As a result the pages may  freeze, some elements may not display properly and some functions may not be working.

NOTE In ProofHQ every other week we do release new features, enhancements and critical fixes to the system so we do recommend clearing your browser's cache regularly. This should ensure that all the data is compatible and up to date.

Over time all the collected temporary files may significantly slow your computer and browser down as cache takes up your disk space and your browser needs to manage all this content. Clearing this data should improve overall performance.
