Understanding the Projected Start Date of a Project

The Projected Start Date is located on a project under the Project Details.

The Projected Start Date is a ‘real time’ view of when the task is going to start based on the progress and completion of prior tasks. If predecessor tasks are running behind it will have an impact on tasks which are planned after that. As a result the Projected Start Date will begin to differ from the original Planned Start Date.

Assuming no delays on predecessor tasks, the Projected Start Date should match the Planned Start Date. As delays occur on in the project, dependent tasks will show a projected date greater than the planned date. The Projected Start Date will always use the Actual Start Date if one is present.

*** Edit this in the same fashion as Planned Date for Projects, Tasks, and Issues.
