Chaining Tasks

In Workfront there are different ways users can create predecessor relationships. One method is through the use of chaining tasks.

Chaining tasks is the process of creating predecessor relationships on a project. Using the chaining task features allows users to have the system create the relationships automatically on identified tasks, rather than manually creating a relationship on each task. Different relationship types can still be used between tasks.

To use the chaining tasks feature, select two or more tasks and right click on a task list. In the options available select 'Chain' (at the bottom). From here identify the type of predecessor relationship to establish between the tasks.

Predecessors can be created different ways in Workfront and using the chaining task method is just one option available to users.
