Submitting Requests from the Outlook Client

NOTE The information on this page refers to the locally installed, Microsoft Office Outlook application. We are in the process of deprecating this functionality, and we recommend that you use the Outlook 365 Add-In instead. For information about how to use the Workfront Add-In for Outlook 365, see "Using Workfront with Outlook 365."

You can submit requests using the Outlook client. You can create a new request or you can convert an email into a request.

Creating a New Request

  1. In the Outlook client, expand Workfront, then click Requests.
  2. Click New Request.
    The New Request dialog box is displayed.
  3. In the Select a Request Type drop-down menu, select the request type.
  4. Fill in the information in the fields provided.
  5. Click Submit Request.

Converting an Email into a New Request

  1. In the Outlook client, select the email you want to convert into a new request.
    You can select an email from any area in the Outlook client.
  2. Drag the email to the Requests area under Workfront.
    The New Request dialog box is displayed.
  3. In the Select a Request Type drop-down menu, select the request type.
  4. The following fields are automatically populated:
    Subject: This is the subject of the email.
    Description: This is the body of the email.
    Documents: This is any attachments that were attached to the email.
  5. Fill in any additional information in the fields provided.
  6. Click Submit Request.
