Understanding Project Finances

The highlighted information on this page refers to functionality not yet generally available. It is available only in the Preview Sandbox environment.

Keeping track of project finances is critical to managing your projects.

As the project manager, you can manually update some financial fields. Other financial data is calculated automatically by Workfront.

You can keep track of financial fields at the project and task level in Workfront. You can keep track of limited financial fields for issues.

The following table shows some of the finances that you can keep track of in Workfront and for which object:

Time For more information about recording time on a project, see "Logging Time."
Budget and Costs For more information about tracking costs, see "Tracking Costs." ✔*

The calculations of the performance metrics vary depending on what type of Performance Index Method you are using. For more information about selecting which PIM to use for your system, see "Setting the Performance Index Method (PIM)."
