Supported Proofing File Types

You can share and review various types of files with your reviewers, even if they do not have the software used to create the files (such as Photoshop or Illustrator) installed on their machines. We support static, video, audio, web captures, and interactive file types up to 4 GB in size.

File Size Limits

There is no file size limit for proofs, as long as it's within your company account total storage allocation. We recommend limiting upload sizes up to 4GB per file.

Larger files take more time to upload and if your connection is not stable the action may be terminated/broken.

For static proofs you can combine up to 50 pages.

The size limit for files attached to comments on proofs is 100 MB.

Web Captures

You can create static web page proofs. For more information, see "Creating Proofs" and "Web Captures."

Zip Files

We do not support or extract files from ZIP files for security reasons. Unzip the files before uploading them. If you do not do this, the upload will not be unsuccessful.

You can submit zip files only if they contain a complete interactive project and your account has interactive features enabled (Premium plans).

For more information, see "Interactive Content."

InDesign and Quark Files

We do not support InDesign and Quark Files because they are not self-contained file types and they reference numerous other files such as images and fonts. Output from these file types varies depending on the output settings. We recommend that customers save InDesign and Quark files as a PDF and upload the PDF.

About SWF Files

Because of security concerns, proofs for interactive and animated Shockwave Flash (SWF) files are no longer viewable in your Proofing Viewer. However, you can view and work with SWF proofs in the following ways:

  • When you open a proof for an SWF file, only the proof's comments appear. You can:
    • Download the original file
    • Browse comments
    • Download comments
    • Reply to and add comments (without using the markup drawing and text tools)
  • If a comment has an associated screenshot, you can:
    • View, edit, and pan and zoom the associated screenshot
    • Edit comments and markups added to the screenshot
