The highlighted information on this page refers to functionality not yet generally available. It is available only in the Preview Sandbox environment.
When providing updates on a Workfront object, all users on the project team can see the information submitted. However, there may be times when a user who is not on the project would benefit from viewing comments. Rather than including the users on the project team, the comment can be shared with them from the update itself. To learn more about updating Workfront objects, see "Making Comments."
Users must have the proper email notifications enabled by the system administrator, as well as in their user profiles in order to receive the notifications. For details on how to enable notifications, see "Configuring Email Notifications."
To include others in an update:
- Begin updating a work item, as described in "Updating Work."
- If you are working in a Production environment, click the Include others on this update icon, type at least the first three letters of the name of the user or team in the provided field, then click the name when it appears in the drop-down list.
If you are working in a Preview environment, begin typing in the Notify field the name of the user or team you want to include, then click the name when it appears in the drop-down list.Or
Type the @ symbol in the Update Status box or in the Notify field, begin typing the name of the user or team you want to include on the update, then click the name when it appears in the drop-down list.In a Production environment, the first name of the user displays in the Update Status box.
In a Preview environment, the first name of the user displays in the reply area.
- To add multiple users and teams, repeat step 2.
All users and team members listed in the Include others in this update or Notify field receive an in-app notification of the update and might receive an email if email notifications have been configured. For more information, see "Configuring Email Notifications."
- Click Update.
Users included in the update are automatically granted View permission to the object and can view and respond to the update comments made to the object.
