Tasks Remain on the Team Requests Tab When a User Not on the Team Volunteers to Work on Them

Tasks that are assigned to both a team and to a user not on the team now remain on the Team Requests tab when the user not on the team volunteers to work on the task. Tasks remain on the Team Requests tab until a user on the team volunteers to work on it.

Prior to this change, requests made to the team were not shown on the Team Requests tab when a user not on the team volunteered to work on the task.

Resource Managers is a new reportable field. For more information, see "Understanding Columns."

Custom Status Group Enhancements

The following improvements were made regarding custom statuses:

  • Create unique statuses and apply them to a specific group.
Prior to this change, statuses could only be created and applied globally.
  • The system administrator can now create a status and lock it, which makes the custom statuses global.
  • The system administrator can create a custom status and leave it unlocked. This allows a status to be shared with a specific group. The group owner can then customize the status to fit their own group needs.
  • Group Owners can now create unique custom statuses for the groups they own.
Prior to this change, only a system administrator could create and share custom statuses.
  • UI improvements when creating custom statuses.
There have been some updates to the interface when creating a new status or editing existing statuses. This is to make the interface consistent with the look and feel of other areas of Workfront.

For more information, see "Creating and Customizing Statuses."

Update the following articles at GA:

-Project Statuses

-Task Statuses

NOTE This functionality is available only within the Preview Sandbox environment

Timeline Recalculations Are Saved Independently from Project Actions

Now when you perform an action on a task or project that triggers a timeline recalculation, all available dates are immediately displayed, allowing you to continue working. Dates that require longer recalculations display briefly as a question mark (between 1 and 5 seconds), indicating that the recalculation is not yet finished, and the dates are subject to change.

For more information about recalculating timelines, see "Recalculating Timelines for Projects."

Reorder Columns in Any List with Drag-and-Drop

You can change the order of columns in any list by dragging a column from one location and dropping it in another.

Preview Sandbox

The Preview Sandbox (PrS) is available to all system administrators and any other users as defined by the system administrator. (For more information about the Preview Sandbox, see "Preview Sandbox Testing Environment.") This is the first opportunity that users in your organization have to review a feature before it is made available to Early Access environments and then made generally available.

Early Access

The Early Access (EA) environment is available to all system administrators and any other users as defined by the system administrator. (For information about how to configure Early Access settings, see "Configuring System Preferences.") Most features made available in Early Access were previously available in the Preview Sandbox.

* Indicates a lengthened EA release cycle in order to provide you with more time to become familiar with the feature.

General Availability

General Availability (GA) is when features are available to all Workfront users. Neither system administrators nor users can opt out of features in General Availability. Most features made generally available were previously available in the Preview Sandbox and Early Access environments.
