What is the difference between Projected and Estimated Date?
The difference between Projected and Estimated dates is directly connected to the Task Constraint option which Workfront uses to project start and complete dates. It is also connected to the Critical Path of the project.
- Estimated Start Date - When the assigned user estimates that work will start on his item.
- Estimated Due Date - When the assigned user estimates that work will be complete on his item.
This is obvious when your Project progress status is "At Risk" as this status occurs if your Estimated dates are after your Projected dates. The Project's progress status is determined by the last task on the critical path.
This information should be included in the MAIN Dates articles for Projects, Issues, and Tasks - part of the Phase 3 project for Documentation. This should not remain as a TTT article.
