Launching Proofs in the Desktop Proofing Viewer

The information on this page refers to functionality not yet generally available. It is available only in the Preview Sandbox environment.

There are two ways to launch proofs in the Desktop Proofing Viewer. You can launch them from Workfront Proof in the browser, or from the desktop application itself. 

Launching Proofs from the Browser

If you cannot use the proofing viewer as described in the section, contact your system administrator. The system administrator can enable or disable access to the new viewer, as described in "Desktop Proofing Viewer" in the article "General Proof Settings." 

  1. Access Workfront Proof. 
    For more information, see "Accessing Workfront Proof from Workfront."
  2. Locate and open the desired proof.
  3. Click Go to proof.
    A launching page appears.
    NOTE At this point if you haven't installed the Desktop Proofing Viewer, follow the installation process as described in "Installing and Updating the Desktop Proofing Viewer."
    Depending on administrative settings, one of the following happens:
    • The proof launches in the Desktop Proofing Viewer and the browser launching page says Launched.
    • The proof opens in the Legacy Proofing Viewer. From here, you have the option to launch the proof in the Desktop Proofing Viewer.

Launching Proofs from the Desktop Application

  1. Open the Desktop Proofing Viewer application.
  2. Specify your proof URL in the Proof URL field.

  3. Click Open Proof.
