Reviewing Proofs in the Desktop Proofing Viewer

The information on this page refers to functionality not yet generally available. It is available only in the Preview Sandbox environment.

The Desktop Proofing Viewer allows you to proof static, video, and interactive content. Unlike the existing Legacy Proofing Viewer and the new Web Proofing Viewer that run in the browser, the Desktop Proofing Viewer is an application that runs on your workstation.

This section describes how to review proofs that have been created either within Workfront or Workfront Proof. (For information about how to create a proof within Workfront, see "Creating Proofs in Workfront." For information about how to create a proof within Workfront Proof, see "Creating Proofs in Workfront Proof.")

Workfront and Workfront Proof currently support the following proofing viewers for proofing content:

  • Desktop Proofing Viewer (recommended). A separate desktop application that runs on your workstation. Can proof interactive content, as well as video and static content.
  • Web Proofing Viewer (recommended). Runs in the browser. Can proof video and static content.
The options available in these two viewers are described in the sections below.
  • Legacy Proofing Viewer. Runs in the browser.
For more information, see "Reviewing Proofs in the Legacy Proofing Viewer."

For information about the proofing capabilities of the different viewers, see "Understanding Differences between the Various Proofing Viewers."

The following sections provide more information about reviewing proofs in the Desktop Proofing Viewer:

Launching a Proof

The Desktop Proofing Viewer launches automatically when you open a proof either from Workfront or from Workfront Proof. Or, you can launch a proof directly from the Desktop Proofing Viewer.

For more information, see "Launching Proofs in the Desktop Proofing Viewer."

Using Browser Navigation within an Interactive Proof

The following browser navigation controls are available next to the URL field when reviewing interactive proofs within the Desktop Proofing Viewer:
