Use Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud with Workfront Library

 

You must purchase a Workfront Library license to be able to access Workfront Library from the Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud extension.

For information about installing the Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud extension, see "Installing Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud."

After you have purchased a license for Workfront Library, you can access and edit the assets stored in the Workfront Library from the following supported Adobe applications:

  • InDesign
  • Illustrator
  • Photoshop

 You can do the following in using the for Adobe Creative Cloud extension: 

Access Workfront Library Content from Adobe Creative Cloud Applications

Consider the following when accessing Workfront Library assets from the Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud extension:

  • You can view only assets that you have created, or that have been shared with you.
  • 100 folders and single assets display at one time with no thumbnails, starting with folders.
    If there are no folders, and the thumbnails of assets display, only 25 assets with their thumbnails display at a time by default.

To access Workfront Library folders and assets from the Workfront extension for Adobe Creative Cloud:

  1. Open a supported Adobe Creative Cloud application.
  2. On the Window menu, click Extensions,  then select Workfront.
  3. The Workfront panel that opens.
    Log in to Workfront.
    For information about logging in to Workfront, see the "Logging in to Workfront from Adobe Creative Cloud Applications" section in the "Using Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud" article.
  4. Click the Library tab.

  5. Do one of the following:
    • Using the Search here box:
      1. Type in the name of an asset or folder that you want to navigate to, then press enter.
        The asset or folder displays in the Search results area.
    • Click the More icon:

      1. Select from the following options:
        • Click Library to access all assets you have access to view in the Workfront Library.
        • Click My Content to access all assets that you have uploaded in the Workfront Library.
        • Click Collections to access a Workfront Library Collection.
  6. (Optional) To decrease the amount of assets that you display in the Workfront extension, click the Options icon.

    When at least one criteria is selected, the Options icon displays a blue dot in the top right.
  7. Select from the following types of information about the assets stored in to display only items meeting that criteria:
    • Branding: Select from one of the custom Branding categories displayed. Branding information must be configured in Workfront Library and associated with assets before they are available in Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud.
    • Created Date: Select the specific date when the assets are created. Select from the following options:
      • Any
      • Today
      • Last Seven Days
      • Last Thirty Days
      • Custom: Select a specific date range
    • Product: Select from one of the custom Product categories displayed. Products must be configured in Workfront Library and associated with assets before they are available in Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud.
    • Modified Date: Select the specific date when the assets are modified. Select from the following options:
      • Any
      • Today
      • Last Seven Days
      • Last Thirty Days
      • Custom: Select a specific date range
    • Size: Select a size range for items you want to display. 
    • File Extension: Select a specific type of file that you want to display. Select from the following:
      • Image
      • Audio
      • Video
      • Document
      • Other
    • Region: Select from one of the custom Regions displayed. Regions must be configured in Workfront Library and associated with assets before they are available in the Workfront extension.
    • Date Time: Select the specific date when the assets are uploaded. Select from the following options: 
      • Any
      • Today
      • Last Seven Days
      • Last Thirty Days
      • Custom: Select a specific date range
    • Date Time Original: Select the specific date when the original assets are uploaded. Select from the following options:
      • Any
      • Today
      • Last Seven Days
      • Last Thirty Days
      • Custom: Select a specific date range
    • Keywords: Start typing a keyword of an asset in the Select box, then press Enter, to only display items that contain that word in their name.
  8. (Optional) Click Show More to continue to display more assets or folders.
  9. Double-click a folder to open its contents.
    Folders may contain subfolders.
    Up to three folders you open during your search are saved in the breadcrumb at the top of the list of assets.
  10. Double-click the asset when it appears in the Search results area to open it in the Adobe application.

Upload an Asset to Workfront Library Using the Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud Extension (make everything below in steps/ procedure; ensure steps below are accurate - they were copied after the req doc/ no access to Upload button in the version of the extension that I have)

You can upload the following types of files to Workfront Library using the Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud extension:

Files that you have been working on in your Adobe applications
The file must first be saved on your computer. 

Any files that have been saved on your computer. 

To upload a file to Workfront Library from inside an Adobe application: 

Open a file in one of the following supported Adobe applications:

InDesign

Illustrator

Photoshop

Access the Library tab in the Workfront for Adobe Creative Cloud extension.
For information about accessing the Library, see "Navigate Library Folders and Assets from Adobe Creative Cloud Applications."

Click the More icon, then select My Content.

(Optional) Navigate to the folder where you want to upload the file.

Do one of the following:

To upload a file that you are working on in the Adobe application:

Click Upload document to Library. (insert screen shot here)
The Upload screen opens.
This option is disabled if you have not saved the file to your computer. 
If the file is saved locally, but was modified after opening and not yet saved, it should be automatically saved when you open the Upload screen.

To upload a file saved on your computer using the Workfront extension:

Click Upload from disk to Library.
The file selection dialogue box opens.

Browse your computer for the file you want to upload to Workfront Library.
You cannot select more than one file.

Edit the Name field.
By default, the Name field is prepopulated with the name of the file. 
The file extension is not editable.

Modify any information about the file you are uploading to Workfront Library. 

Click Upload
The file is uploaded to Workfront Library and it is listed in the My Content area.
